Religion...The opiate/stimulant depending on you

One of my classes this quarter is Called Women in the Bible. And in it we are going to try to make the issue of gender roles in Biblical times more accessible. And I find this aim very relevant to today. As gender roles are in some cases changing, in others remaining unfathomable, and in some they are falling away, we must study them. This is a RARE case in which a modern day issue can be applied to something Biblical.
I have heard from protestors at Pride, to the church next door to group back in Dallas. They have told me that I am living in sin. And that I am going to burn in hell. It is with these two sentences that I take off from. No one sin, is greater than another. I'd just like to make that point. Also, if you would please consult 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

So...where's my ticket to hell now?

Also, an issue that really infuriates me is that the Bible, in the version that it is right now. Can almost never be applied to modern times. They did not have computers for porn, drugs, inherintly sinful things. So how can 4 loaves of bread and some fish give me guidance about my sexual infidelity? Yet somehow someone manages to find a meaning that isn't there and use it to their advantage to condemn a certain group of people.

However, the Proverbs that Jesus told had one message. Love. Not hate. Yet all I hear out of the Pope's mouth, is hate. Westboro Baptist Church. Hate.

What comes out of your mouth?
With love, regardless!
